Doesn’t the aroma of freshly barbecued food just tantalize your taste buds? Be it seekh kabab or tikka along with crispy parathas, all you want to do is just indulge in the yummilicious bbq items. Is your mouth watering yet? Well, all you Islooite foodies out there, the good news is that Karachi’s famous barbeque eatery ‘Al Haaj Bundoo Khan’ has been recently launched in the Capital. 

For those who don’t know, it was in the year 1948 that Muhammad Ali Khan (MAK) introduced a unique barbeque cuisine to the city of lights, which became a family business. In a short span of time, this BBQ place became a household name and must-visit restaurant for the visitors. They started off from a small shop at Bunder Road, Karachi and later on opened their outlets at Sindhi Muslim and DHA. Also, they have restaurants in Faisalabad, Dubai, London, Houston USA and now in Islamabad.

The most interesting part is, it was Bundoo Khan that introduced the famous puri paratha. And it was from there that the term paratha-kabab was coined. Let’s talk about some of the specialties that they offer. The most popular dishes include chicken and mutton tikka and boti, reshmi kabab, malai boti, chicken sangdana/khalaji (liver), halwa etc.

Now coming back to the launch in Islamabad! The event was handled by Rezz Aly Shah and the red carpet was hosted by model Natasha. Many socialites and media personalities were spotted at the occasion. Nadia Ashar, an entrepreneur and a connoisseur of desi food, is the brains behind bringing ‘Al Haaj Bundoo Khan’ to the region. “I am really happy that I have finally succeeded in bringing this unique restaurant to the Capital that offers amazing BBQ,” said Nadia at the launch.
