It looks like ‘Tayyar Hain’, produced by Xulfi and featuring Ali Azmat, Arif Lohar, Haroon Shahid and Asim Azhar, has a competitor coming. The PSL anthem got vigorous criticism on social media for well, not living up to expectations, but it might become a thing of the past as a new song, also produced by Xulfi and repeating the same idea – various generations of music coming together – is coming up.
It is hard to decipher just how many musicians are getting together but it is yet another meeting of Fawad Khan and Xulfi whose last creation culminated in the very cool, ‘Uth Jaag’. The two musicians who also played music together in EP have joined forces as Xulfi produced the Pepsi song, which is called ‘Khel Ja Dil Se’. Apart from Fawad Khan, it features the very talented and popular Aima Baig, singer-actor Haroon Shahid and the younger lot of music such as Kashmir’s Bilal Ali and Bayaan’s Asfar Hussain. The single is written by Adnan Dhool and Xulfi, with the latter also producing the song.
It is good to see Pepsi mix the generations but what will be worth watching is will this single create the same buzz as ‘Uth Jaag,’ which was a collaboration featuring several artists. A 10-second teaser released by Pepsi shows Fawad Khan and Aima Baig against a neon triangle before Fawad ends it on a soft note, which works for the teaser at least. Whether the song will live up to expectations, particularly after the response to ‘Tayyar Hain’, time will tell. Keep watching this space for more.
