Socially relevant drama serial Udaari that aired in 2016 and generated critical and commercial acclaim really put Urwa Hocane on the map particularly because of her strong performance. Though she didn’t feature in any drama serial since then, she garnered appreciation for her portrayal of Durdana in Nadeem Baig’s 2018 blockbuster, Punjab Nahi Jaungi.

Now, after a gap of about three years, Urwa is all set to return to the small screen with an upcoming drama called Mushk. Directed by Aehsun Talish of Suno Chanda fame, the script is penned by Imran Ashraf (aka Bhola of Ranjha Ranjha Kardi fame), who will also star opposite Urwa in the project. According to Imran, Urwa’s character will blow viewers away as she will be playing a very interesting role.

The older Hocane sister is also gearing up for her first film as a producer that is said to feature Feroze Khan, Sonya Hussyn, Iman Ali and Farhan Saeed with the latter making his film debut. Titled Tich Button, the film is expected to release next year.

“This will be my first TV project after Udaari. After I had done Udaari, I did three films including Na Maloom Afraad 2, Rangreza and Punjab Nahi Jaungi. I had then taken a break from acting this year as I was focusing on the production of my upcoming film, Tich Button. My film is now in the post production phase so keep an eye out for that one too, early next year,” Urwa told Instep.

Speaking of Mushk’s plot, Urwa added, “The storyline isn’t something that can be summarised in a few sentences; it has a lot of wonderful layers and you will get to know a lot of new things through it. I cannot reveal too much at this point so you will have to wait for it to hit the screens. This will be something fresh and new so trust me, patience will be bliss.”

Urwa also shared that she is thrilled to be a part of an amazing team that is behind her upcoming drama and she is thoroughly enjoying shooting for it. “Working with every individual has been very special; I’ve learnt a lot from each one of them and I’m looking forward to more that’s coming our way.”

Given the names attached to the project, we are sure Mushk is going to be an interesting watch for viewers.
