Culture is a strong representation of any nation and there is no better way to strengthen ties with countries around the world than knowing its people and customs. Food, film and other festivals happening across the globe allow for exchange of ideas, opinions and bring nations close to each other in the most constructive ways.

While some of our actors graced the recently concluded SCO Film Festival in Qingdao, China, that screened and honoured Pakistani films, others attended the 2-day Mississauga Halal Food Festival 2018 that took place at the Celebration Square, Mississauga.

Those who went to Mississauga to become a part of this festival include Adnan Siddiqui, Osman Khalid Butt, Hareem Farooq, Imran Raza Kazmi, Farhan Shah, Aamir Saleem and Shehzad Roy, who performed live on the first day of the festival. While their families and friends were celebrating Eid ul Fitr in their hometown, they were attending the festival and sent Eid wishes from there.

The festival that took place last weekend, from June 16 till June 17, brought together a variety of halal food from a wide range of suppliers, who provided information, education and awareness on the benefits of halal products. There were inflatable rides for the children to enjoy, local and international performers, and a mixture of both traditional and modern musical entertainment that catered to the older and younger generations alike. Besides, the recent fifth installment of the festival celebrated the cuisine, culture, music and dance of South Asia and the Middle East.
