It’s been a year since we heard about Mawra Hocane’s film debut in Pakistan that was supposed to be under the direction of Saqib Malik and opposite musician-actor Umair Jaswal.

It’s been a year since we heard about Mawra Hocane’s film debut in Pakistan that was supposed to be under the direction of Saqib Malik and opposite musician-actor Umair Jaswal. However, no development is seen in this direction and no official announcement was made either. In a recent interview the actor shared why there hasn’t been any news about the film and what’s causing the delay.

“That film is not happening at the moment, because of some technical reasons,” she informed. “The script is under process.”

About the film’s announcement last year, Hocane maintained, “I thought the announcement was made too early, but you know how social media is these days. Projects aren’t ready to begin but the announcement is made way beforehand. I thought this was like a lesson for us that we should personally step in to stop early announcements. But usually, I don’t intrude in these matters.”

Hocane was last seen in social drama Sammi with vani (forced marriage) as its central theme while she has recently shot for an ad campaign for a fairness cream. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Mawra has been stereotyped as tragic heroine on television and the big screen (Sanam Teri Kasam).

Speaking about the kind of roles she would like to portray in future, the actor shared, “There is so much that I cannot even list it down! I’ve only just started, and I think the only thing that I’ve explored is crying. I want to do action, comedy, filmy, romantic and every possible genre.”
