Patari, an audio tech start-up that is home to scores of music artists from Pakistan, is growing in brilliant fashion. Not only has it created thoughtful partnerships with artists as diverse as Zohaib Kazi, Hadiqa Kiani and Noori and backed many deserving music candidates into the spotlight with projects like Patari Tabeer, it is also home to some wonderful podcasts on a wide variety of subjects. Their most recent effort includes a collaboration with Archive of Pakistan (CAP) that aims to bring CAP’s podcasts to Patari’s audience.

A press statement detailing the story behind these particular podcasts stated: “The podcasts are part of the Oral History Project at CAP which concentrates on people talking about significant events in their lives during the early days of Pakistan. The OHP works with different communities in Pakistan under sub-projects such as the Minority Project and Lollywood Through the Ages which document the memories of minority communities and the entertainment industry in Pakistan respectively.

These podcasts are excerpts from oral history interviews with individuals who have witnessed the creation and formative years of Pakistan. They cover a range of topics, from art and culture to music and the 1947 Partition. These recordings provide an insight into Pakistan’s history and heritage that is not present in the historical literature.”

This partnership makes a lot of sense given how Patari has evolved. Since launching in 2015, it has built a reservoir of content that includes, other than music, all forms of spoken word content.
