Recently, Abhay Deol stirred a conversation regarding India’s obsession with fairness creams and how celebrities endorse them. He called out the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone over a Twitter rant which became viral, for all the right reasons. Fairness creams are a thing of the past and a country moving towards liberalism should not promote inequality on the basis of skin colour.

Turns out, Priyanka Chopra also did one such commercial many years ago. Recently, the Quantico star claimed that she regretted doing it. “I did one many years ago, for a year and then later I didn’t like it. After that I never did it,” said Chopra.

Chopra also shared her views on how Twitter rants have become the basis for articles nowadays. When asked to comment on Abhay Deol’s tweets, Chopra said that the media is giving too much importance to tweets.

“Every tweet of mine becomes an article. I have 17 million followers; they read what I have to say. Why make an article on it? When you guys give it so much importance, it becomes a big controversy. We live in a democracy, everyone has a right to have an opinion and that is the kind of lesson we have to teach our future generations. Nothing is wrong or right, everything is about perspective and we should respect that.”
