Pakistani-Canadian actress Armeena Khan made her big screen debut in the local film industry with Bin Roye alongside Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan in 2015. She has appeared in a number of TV plays and her second film Janaan (2016) which released last year received much acclaim. The actress is gearing up for two upcoming films including Hassan Waqas Rana’s war film Yalghaar that is set to release on Eid-ul-Fitr this year and a British sci-fi production, Achilles Protocol.

Speaking to Instep on the sidelines of the Yalghaar trailer launch, Khan revealed some details about her role in the film. “My character is not very action orientated, I am playing Bilal Ashraf’s love interest in the film. She’s very confident; she knows what she wants out of life. She will bring comic relief to the film with her joyous character that will change the mood.”

However, the actress noted that her role in Achilles Protocol is in sharp contrast with the one she is essaying in Yalghaar and involves a lot of action.

“I am this weapon yielding Agent Wilson in the film,” she shared. “What Bilal Ashraf is doing in Yalghaar, I’m doing that in Achilles Protocol. I am under training at the moment that begins with boxing. Once my foot work is in sync, I’ll move on to combat fighting. The shooting will end in December and the film is expected to come out early next year.”

Achilles Protocol is an exploration of a conflict between a super hacker and artificial intelligence gone rogue. It features Khan alongside a British cast that includes actors Christopher Faith, Mark Hill and Grace Riley.
