In a recent interview with Instep, band vocalist Adnan Dhool shared his thoughts on the current state of film music in Pakistan. He is of the view that most of the music produced is not original.

“We are doing the kind of film music that India did in 2004,” he told Instep. “We lack original ideas. There’s a dire need to take out stories from our own reality and base our films and music on that. Otherwise, we won’t be able to survive.”

However, Dhool is optimistic for the future of film music in Pakistan and believes that as the film industry grows, the music will also get better.

Aside from Chupan Chupai, Soch’s future projects also include Shoaib Mansoor’s upcoming film Verna that stars Mahira Khan in the lead role. The band will lend their vocals to one of the tracks in the film.
