SHARJAH: Lahore Qalandars captain has won the toss and elected to bat first against Peshawar Zalmi in the 29th Twenty20 match in the third edition of the Pakistan Super League here at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Lahore Qalandars have made two changes in their team, bringing in Kyle Abbott and Bilal Asif in place of Sunil Narine and Sohail Khan while Peshawar Zalmi, on the other side remain unchanged.
Teams
Peshawar Zalmi XI: Mohammad Hafeez, Kamran Akmal, Dwayne Smith, Riki Wessels (wk), Saad Nasim, Darren Sammy (captain), Liam Dawson, Umaid Asif, Hasan Ali, Wahab Riaz, Sameen Gul
Lahore Qalandars XI: Fakhar Zaman, Anton Devcich, Agha Salman, Brendon McCullum (captain), Gulraiz Sadaf (wk), Sohail Akhtar, Bilal Asif, Yasir Shah, Kyle Abbott, Mitchell McClenaghan, Shaheen Afridi
Both teams are playing their last league match today.
Lahore Qalandars are currently at the bottom with six points and they are already out of the tournament. Peshawar Zalmi are one place above them on eight points.
If they lose they get eliminated and a win will help them shoot straight up to second place as they will tie Quetta Gladiators on 10 points. But Peshawar have a far superior net run rate. If Peshawar progress, it will spell curtains for Multan Sultans. If Multan are to progress, they need Peshawar to lose.
