Fakhar Zaman’s explosive 94 helps Qalandars amass 188-4 against Gladiators
This was the second highest total of the tournament, after 188-3 scored by Karachi Kings against Multan Sultans at Dubai on March 10.
SHARJAH: Opener Fakhar Zaman blasted a 50-ball 94 to help Lahore Qalandars reach a mammoth total of 186-4 against Quetta Gladiators in the 26th Twenty20 match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) – 3 here at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Wednesday night.
This was the second highest total of the tournament, after 188-3 scored by Karachi Kings against Multan Sultans at Dubai on March 10.
After being sent into bat, Fakhar provided a solid start of 43 along with Anton Devcich (18) before losing three quick wickets within 30 runs as Agha Salman and captain Brandon McCullum fell cheaply.
Then, Fakhar was joined by Gulraiz Sadaf and both added breezy 68 runs from just 30 balls for the fourth wicket stand.
Fakhar smashed six towering sixes and nine fours before falling just six runs short of the first individual hundred of the tournament. However, this was the biggest innings by any batsman in the PSL-3.
Later, Gulraiz (43) and Sunil Narine (20) added 45 runs for the unbeaten fifth wicket partnership.
