Iraq scores Guinness record of cooking world’s largest shawarma
During the religious Arbaeen festival, Adnan made a giant shawarma that weighed at an impressive 3.1 tons, a little over what required him to claim the coveted record.
KARBALA: Just after Guinness records were set for the world's largest pizza and sandwich, an Iraqi man named Adnan Tartan took on the role of cooking the world’s largest shawarma and scored a Guinness himself.
During the religious Arbaeen festival, Adnan made a giant shawarma that weighed at an impressive 3.1 tons, a little over what required him to claim the coveted record.
A large crowd gathered around Adnan Tartan to get its hands on the delicious chicken sub garnished in a traditional manner with a smattering of cabbage and tomatoes.
Previously the record was held by Dubai Shopping Festival, where the world’s biggest shawarma weighed in at 1.85 tons.
