World's longest carnival has kicked off in Uruguay and will last for 40 days. The event will last till March and the capital city of Montevideo is the center of all attraction.

Various 45-minute musical theatres are also performed throughout the carnival. Many singing, dancing performances are held in public places and clubs.
Locals rehearse for the festival in the months of December and January. The best performances are also given prizes at the festival.
