China’s gift of sight for 500 Pakistanis
Having treated about 1000 patients previously in Sri Lanka and Myanmar, the program is the first of its kind, termed as the first foreign medical assistance project initiated by China.
KARACHI: As many as 500 Pakistanis had their vision restored through free surgeries performed by Chinese doctors, as part of program 'Brightness Journey of Lifeline Express 2018' in Karachi.
Having treated about 1000 patients previously in Sri Lanka and Myanmar, the program is the first of its kind, termed as the first foreign medical assistance project initiated by China.
It has also treated patients in developing countries across the Asia and Africa.
In order to treat patients suffering from cataract, these doctors perform about 70 surgeries a day; all recorded live in order to train Pakistani doctors about the procedure.
As a gesture of goodwill, Lifeline Express’ medical team is scheduled to offer free surgeries in Karachi throughout the month of January.
