ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved increase in power tariff for Karachi under fuel charges adjustment for the month of July and August.
The power regulatory body, while hearing the petition filed by K-Electric for hike in power tariff under FCA here Thursday, approved increased by 15 paisa and 23 paisa per unit for the month of July and August respectively.
During the proceedings today, K-Electric informed that over Rs237.8 million and Rs358.7 million extra were spent on the consumption of fuel in the generation of electricity in July and August respectively. Therefore, the power utility urged NEPRA to increase the power tariff under fuel charges adjustment.
On this, the regulatory body approved increase by 15 paisa for July and 23 paisa for August.
