Ed Sheeran’s estranged cousin, Jethro Sheeran, says he is ready to make peace after years without speaking.

In a turn of events, Jethro told The Mail on Sunday he would “definitely hug and make up for the sake of our family.”

“It would be good for our family to bring peace,” he told the outlet. “I’m more than happy to move on.”

He said things will never be the same, but he doesn’t hate Ed. “We have the same blood in our veins.”

The two fell out nearly a decade ago. Jethro, who often worked with Ed before he became famous, released a remix called Raise Em Up. Ed’s label, Warner Music, told him to remove the singer’s name and image from the track and later took him to court. Jethro claims Ed allowed the legal action as part of a personal vendetta.

Jethro said they haven’t spoken in seven or eight years. He alleges Ed “stole music” from him and did “spiteful” and “cruel” things. He also said family members have walked away from Ed, who he believes changed. “You should be kind to the people who were around when you came up,” he said.

The feud made headlines again after Ed removed Macklemore from his Loop tour following remarks the rapper made onstage. Ed said it was the promoters’ decision.

Jethro came to limelight again when he wrote on Instagram that he believes it was Ed’s call, and he called his cousin a “coward.”
