Netflix eyes U.S. streaming rights for upcoming FIFA World Cups
Netflix content chief says the company is in touch with FIFA
FIFA is reportedly in the early phase of looking for broadcasters for its men's World Cup of 2030 and 2034, and Netflix wants to be considered.
Bela Bajaria, the streamer's content chief, said, “We have a great relationship with [FIFA] because we have the Women’s World Cup and [we’re] having those conversations."
“We’re always going to be in the conversation with the leagues," the exec added.
Bajaria said she has also locked in attention for the Women's World Cup.
“I’m really excited about the Women’s World Cup. So, we’re definitely going to always have those conversations,” she shared.
It is worth noting that Netflix already has the broadcast rights in the U.S. and Canada for the 2027 and 2031 FIFA Women's World Cups.
