Angry Anderson's death leaves Rose Tattoo fans in mourning

Fans are mourning the sudden death of Australian rock legend Angry Anderson.

Music fans were left in shock when the rock band, Rose Tattoo, announced the death of their lead singer. He was 79. 

“It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gary ‘Angry’ Anderson on the eve of Monday 21 September 2026, surrounded by his loved ones here in Australia,” the statement read.

“Angry was a devoted father, and much-loved member of his friends, bandmates and the wider music and entertainment community," it continued. “His loss will be deeply felt by all those who knew and loved him both here in Australia and overseas.

“The family and band members are asking for privacy at this difficult time and will not be giving interviews," the statement concluded.

As the heartbreaking news broke out, fans took to social media to express their grief over the death of the legendary singer.

"RIP you absolute legend," penned one person.

Meanwhile, another one commented, "My misspent youth listening to rose tattoo, and Gray was one of my teen crushes..rip."

"RIP, such an Aussie icon what a life he had," penned a third one.

"Rest in Peace Mr Anderson. A truly inspirational man and a fabulous Human," a fouth one wrote.
