Why does Elon Musk want more people to visit China?

Elon Musk in a recent interview not only praised Chinese President Xi Jinping as a “great leader” but also recommended everyone to visit China.

Speaking to the Chinese state television network CCTV on Wednesday, the CEO of SpaceX credited Xi’s leadership for immense progress the country is witnessing today spanning from infrastructure, new buildings, and science to technology.

"It's also obvious to ​see that, just walking around the streets, the ⁠increased prosperity of the average Chinese citizen, all that seems happened under President Xi's, you know, while he's been the leader of China. So he's clearly done an excellent job and is very capable.” he ​added.

When it comes to visiting China, Musk recommended people to go to the country as much as they can.

“I generally recommend people go to China as much as they can, because China has so many things to see. I took the bullet train from Beijing to Xi’an. That was a great experience. The train stations are amazing.”

The CEO of Tesla added, “The Terracotta Warriors are one of the wonders of the world. Just make sure you look out the window and aren’t on your phone, because there’s so much to see. Any words I say do not do justice to the incredible majesty that is China. It’s awesome.”

Musk also praised the talented and trustworthy team of Tesla’s largest manufacturing hub located in Shanghai.

Musk’s interview came ahead of the Trump-Xi summit scheduled to take place on September 24. As reported by Reuters, Musk will join other US tech executives and CEOs at the White House State dinner hosted by President Donald Trump for Xi and his wife on Thursday.
