Uganda makes shocking move over Prince Harry’s ‘Invictus Games’

Uganda’s general announced ‘support’ for King Charles.

After returning to his homeland, Prince Harry has faced a major setback as Uganda steps away from the Duke of Sussex's Invictus Games.

On September 8, Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, made a public announcement on Twitter that Uganda stands with King Charles and they do not want to be viewed as opposing the monarch.

The statement read, “In order not to be construed as being opposed to His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom, whom we deeply revere, Uganda hereby withdraws from the Invictus Games.”

“We shall not participate in anything that does not have His Majesty’s approval,” the post further read.

This comes after a letter was sent to senior government and military officials on behalf of the monarch, in which it was clearly written that there will be “no change” in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's “current status” as they will remain non-working royals; moreover, “their position is akin to private citizens with commercial and charitable interests.”

However, on September 9, General Muhoozi has also revealed to The Times, stating, “I have factions in the Ministry of Defence that support that Harry-Meghan nonsense."

"I had to quash it straight away. I support the monarch. Period," Uganda’s top military official added.
