Gordon Ramsay’s upcoming show suffers major setback

Marcus Wareing has reportedly pulled out of hosting a new TV show from Gordon Ramsay’s production company Studio Ramsay.

The unnamed show features ordinary people looking to improve their cookery skills under the tutelage of Michelin-starred chef Wareing, who also appears as a judge on MasterChef: The Professionals.

Filming had been earmarked to take place for the show, which is destined for the BBC, next week – but according to The Sun, the plans are now up in the air after Wareing withdrew.

“Sadly, the format has already fallen apart,” a source told the newspaper. “Last week, Marcus told the producers he didn’t want to do it anymore, leading to the show being halted.”

They added, “It all feels pretty final, but the BBC could try to rescue it in another way. They liked the concept and the talent involved.”

Wareing and Ramsay repaired a decade-old feud ahead of the announcement of the programme in June, at which time Wareing said, “This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside Gordon again. It’s been many years since we last shared a kitchen. I can’t wait to get started.”

To this Gordon Ramsay added, “Marcus and I go back a long way. And I’m delighted we’re coming together to bring this special series to BBC Daytime.”
