Angel Reese made WNBA history by setting a single-game record with 26 rebounds in Atlanta Dream’s 78-71 win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Monday.

With this achievement, Reese also shattered the league's season record of 24-rebounds in the game which was previously held by Hall of Famer Chamique Holdsclaw since 2003.

She also broke the WNBA single-season rebounding record, bringing her season total to 458 rebounds. Reese flew past the previous single-season record of 451 rebounds set by Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson during the 2024 campaign.

In a postgame interview, Reese said, "Last time I was here, I didn't miss any shots. Tonight, I couldn't hit [anything], so I knew I was going to be able to get them on the rebounding side.”

"I just want to be there for my team. Offensively, defensively, whatever it takes to win."

Previously, Reese also scored a career-high 31-points in Atlanta’s win at Phoenix on Saturday. Her previous single-game rebound was 22 which she set in her rookie season while playing with Chicago Sky in 2024.

Atlanta coach Karl Smesko said, "Angel's been remarkable on this trip. You can see her getting better each month."

Allisha Gray who led Atlanta with 20 points on Monday said, “That's a talent. I'm just in awe watching her rebound."

Alongside her 26 rebounds, Reese contributed 11 points, 3 assists, and 3 blocks in 38:17 minutes of play. The 24-year-old now has 1,281 career rebounds through 101 WNBA games.
