Ashton Jeanty helped off field after suffering injury at Raiders practice
Jeanty landed awkwardly while diving for a catch during an 11-on-11 session and remained on the ground
Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty was helped off the practice field on Sunday after suffering an apparent right leg injury during drills.
CBS Sports reported that Jeanty landed awkwardly while diving for a catch during an 11-on-11 session and remained on the ground as trainers attended to him.
The 22-year-old was eventually helped to his feet but appeared unable to put any weight on his right leg as he was assisted from the field.
Raiders players reportedly took a knee and remained silent for a period following the injury before practice resumed.
The team did not immediately provide details about Jeanty’s condition or how long he could be sidelined.
Jeanty is entering his second NFL season after recording more than 1,300 total yards and 10 touchdowns during his rookie campaign with Las Vegas.
He had been sharing practice repetitions with rookie running back Mike Washington Jr., who could receive increased first-team opportunities if Jeanty misses.
The Raiders are now awaiting further information on Jeanty’s injury.
