Lucy Davis gives key advice after stage 4 cancer diagnosis
Lucy Davis opens up about her cancer diagnosis and reveals whether she can survive
Lucy Davis recently made her first public appearance after she was diagnosed with cancer.
On Saturday, August 13, the 53-year-old English actress, who shot to fame for portraying Dawn Tinsley in the BBC mockumentary television sitcom The Office, attended the For the Love of Fantasy & Sci-Fi convention at London's ExCeL.
Reuniting with her 2004 horror-comedy film Shaun of the Dead director and actor Edgar Wright and star Simon Pegg, Davis revealed that she has been diagnosed with stage breast cancer.
She called her fans her “second family” and went on to tell her fans to never giving up despite not knowing “how long she has left'.
The Pride and Prejudice star said, “It’s like this whole second family you never knew you had. Everyone is like a community, friendly, supportive of us, but you guys and each other. So, I’m quite hopeful about that, to be honest.”
“We need a bit more niceness in the world, and we get it here. So, I’m grateful for you guys,” Davis admitted.
She was asked to give any piece of advice to aspiring actors; she said, “Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do or be anything that you want to do or be.”
The Wonder Woman actress added, “We all grow up just with lies from the world telling us that we all have limitations, and none of us do.”
“Our only limitations are the things that we think are limiting us. You can do anything and be anybody, and don’t apologise for it,” Lucy Davis stated.
