White House uses Game of Thrones intro by Iranian artist as it struggles to find a way out of Iran war
Donald Trump’s White House continue to receive backlash for copyright violations
The White House continued to face accusations of copyright violations as it used the Game of Thrones title sequence for a video posted on its social media accounts Monday.
The latest video, shared with the caption “THE CAPITAL: RESTORED. Order restored. The capital reclaimed,” uses the music and visuals inspired by the hit HBO TV series Game of Thrones.
The clip features visuals of US monuments including the Capitol and the White House, and culminates with the Oval Office turning into the Iron Throne, the seat of the king in Game of Thrones.
Interestingly, the theme song used in both Game of Thrones and the White House clip was composed by Ramin Djawadi, an Iranian-German film score composer and record producer. It was shared as the US administration continues to find a way out of the war against Iran.
The clip comes three days after the White House used Spider-Man for a social media post featuring the superhero as an ICE agent.
The post sparked strong criticism on social media, with fans asking Marvel Studios to sue the White House.
Meanwhile, some Taylor Swift songs have been removed from social media videos posted by President Donald Trump's campaign and the White House, which had used two of the American superstar's songs over the past week.
