Intel launches $15 billion share sale as turnaround stock rally surges: report
The chipmaker seeks fresh capital as investor confidence grows in its turnaround strategy
Intel has announced plans to raise $15 billion through a major public stock offering, capitalizing on a sharp surge in its share price fueled by its ongoing recovery efforts.
As reported by Reuters, the U.S. semiconductor giant intends to use the capital to fund the costly expansion of its chip contract manufacturing business, investing heavily in new fabrication facilities and advanced packaging capabilities.
The aggressive push aims to position Intel to better challenge industry leaders like TSMC.
While the equity raise provides vital financial flexibility for the company's capital-intensive roadmap, Intel's shares dipped over 3% in premarket trading as investors weighed the impact of potential shareholder dilution.
Underwriters have also been granted a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional $2.25 billion in shares.
