Buckingham Palace issues statement on birth of Princess Eugenie's third child
The palace says King Charles and Queen Camilla are delighted to be informed of the baby's arrival
The royal family announced the birth of Princess Eugenie's third child in a statement issued on Tuesday.
"Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, born on Monday, 3rd August 2026, at 6.20pm, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal," Buckingham Palce said.
It said, "The baby was born weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces. Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news."
Eugenie, a niece of King Charles, welcomed her third child with her husband Jack Brooksbank. She married Brooksbank at Windsor Castle in 2018, and they have two sons: August, born in February 2021, and Ernest, born in June 2023.
Eugenie, 12th in line to the British throne, is the younger daughter of the king's brother, the former Prince Andrew, and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York.
