Kate Middleton ditches ‘formality’ to plant a peck on Prince William
Kate Middleton, Prince William loved up PDA takes internet by storm
Kate Middleton and Prince William are winning hearts with their latest love gesture.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were spotted giving a smooch to each other moments after a charity polo game on Friday.
Kate was quick to express her love towards husband right after the heir’s team won.
“Senior members of the royal family would likely not be told how to interact or when they can or can not show PDA and would be trusted to use their better judgment as to when it’s appropriate,” Ladies of London star and royal etiquette expert Myka Meier previously told PEOPLE.
Meanwhile, director of Beaumont Etiquette added: “The royals often adjust PDA to mirror the formality of the event they are attending.”
The Princess of Wales, who was recently spotted with new bling at Wimbledon, is seemingly positioning herself as the next Princess Diana.
“Wimbledon isn't just another engagement, it's tradition, and for the Princess of Wales specifically, it comes with a particular kind of scrutiny,” Rakholia, founder of Abelini, shares.
“Think about Princess Diana, mention her name and certain pieces come to mind almost instantly: her sapphire engagement ring, the pearl choker she wore so often it became part of her visual identity,” he notes. “That association wasn't built in a single appearance, it took years of repetition.”
