Princess Anne reminded of Queen Elizabeth’s visit by South Korea president
President Lee Jae Myung received the Princess Royal and her husband upon their arrival at his office
Princess Anne, also known as Princess Royal, is in South Korea as part of royal duties.
The only sister of King Charles, and her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, were welcomed by South Korea president Lee Jae Myung at the President’s Official Residence in Seoul.
“Your mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, visited Andong when she came to Korea, as a matter of fact, that city is my hometown,” President Lee Jae Myung was quoted as having told the Princess Royal during their meeting.
Meanwhile, a report said that Princess Anne encountered members of K-Pop group NMIXX at a reception held at Seoul's Four Seasons Hotel.
The event, organised by the British Embassy Seoul, brought together figures from across the UK-Republic of Korea partnership, according to GB News.
Following their South Korea engagements, which end on Wednesday , Anne and Sir Tim Laurence will depart for Thailand, where they will spend two days.
The Thai itinerary includes a visit to a Bangkok school supported by Save the Children Thailand.
Princess Anne is scheduled to meet with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and have an audience with King Rama X and Queen Suthida.
She will also pay her respects to Thailand's late Queen Mother, Queen Sirikit.
