Nancy Guthrie case update: Retired FBI agent suggests an ‘internal rift’ over the investigation
Nancy Guthrie has been missing since February 1
The case of Nancy Guthrie has entered its fifth month with key details remaining undisclosed. A retired agent recently speculated that there is substantive conflict within the FBI.
During an interview with Brian Entin, former FBI agent Steve Moore highlighted these inconsistencies to uncover errors in what the bureau has said about the ransom notes in Nancy’s case.
In this connection, Moore on Brian Entin Investigates said: “The more I see this, the more I think that there is some significant disagreement within the FBI investigation on what they’re dealing with.”
Earlier, a critical ransom noted received shortly after the February 2026 disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, 84, claimed that she had died. The note was one of two planned for Nancy Guthrie's family and sent to news media in the days following her kidnapping.
Moore said: “Regardless of whether or not ransom notes from the actual takers of Nancy ever existed, they still believe it remains a kidnapping,”
“With blood on the porch of Nancy’s house, I think you have to put into play the very strong possibility that Nancy didn’t survive long enough for them to even get a ransom note,” Moore continued.
For those unversed, the high-profile case has now stretched on for more than four months without authorities naming a confirmed suspect.
Her family is anxiously waiting for her to return home safely and is committed to offer a $1,000,000 reward for any information leading to her return.
