King Charles recognized a number of outstanding individuals during an investiture ceremony held at the Palace of Holyroodhouse as part of his annual visit to Scotland.

The official Instagram handle of the British royal family shared photos from the event. The pictures highlighted the King's role in presenting honours to recipients whose contributions have made a lasting impact on communities across the country.

The palace wrote, "At the Palace of Holyroodhouse, The King has recognised extraordinary people at an Investiture ceremony."

"From the Borders to the Highlands and Islands, His Majesty presented honours to recipients from across Scotland, celebrating their exceptional achievements in fields including public service, charity, business, sports, arts and education," they added, concluding with "Congratulations to all those who received awards today!"

For those unaware, Investitures are formal ceremonies where recipients receive honors on behalf of the monarch in recognition of achievements in public service, charity, the arts, science, business, healthcare and other fields.

The ceremony took place at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the monarch's official residence in Edinburgh, during Holyrood Week, which is also know as Royal Week in Scotland.
