'Love Island' team mourns death of producer James Barker
Love Island USA producer James Barker has died after suffering an unexpected medical emergency while filming in Fiji.
Barker was the show's executive producer of post-production and passed away last week on the island where the current season is being filmed.
Reports say his death will be acknowledged in an upcoming episode of the show. In a statement, ITV America and Peacock said they would honour Barker during Tuesday's episode of Love Island USA.
The companies described his death as a devastating loss for the production team and everyone who worked with him.
They called Barker a valued and respected member of the team whose kindness, talent, and dedication made a lasting impact.
The statement also expressed condolences to his partner, family, friends and colleagues.
Per his LinkedIn profile, Barker joined ITV America in 2020 and became a full-time executive producer in January 2026.
