Everything to know about 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days' sequel as new confirmations emerge
Kate Hudson signs on for 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days' sequel
A sequel to the popular 2003 romantic comedy How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is reportedly in "early stages of development," with Kate Hudson signed on to help produce the project.
Sources close to the project have revealed that specific plot details have not yet been finalised, as the sequel remains in its early planning stages, People reported after Variety first announced the news.
Hudson will produce the film alongside Stacey Sher through her production company.
While nothing has been officially confirmed, filmmakers reportedly hope Hudson and her original co-star, Matthew McConaughey, will return for the sequel, depending on how the script eventually comes together.
The original film followed a magazine writer who intentionally tries to drive away the man she's dating for a story assignment, while he simultaneously attempts to prove he can make any woman fall for him within the same timeframe. The two end up falling for each other in the process.
Hudson and McConaughey previously reunited publicly in 2023 to celebrate the film's 20th anniversary, reflecting fondly on their on-screen chemistry and creative partnership during that project.
Hudson also referenced the original film in her Netflix series earlier this year, explaining that she agreed to include the nod because of how well the moment was written into the story, even though the scene itself carried some emotional weight.
