Multiple coaches involved in Dianna Russini scandal, new accusations emerge

The controversy surrounding NFL insider Dianna Russini and New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel has taken another turn after former USA TODAY NFL reporter Crissy Froyd made fresh allegations during a radio interview.

Speaking on The Howard Eskin Show, Froyd was asked whether there were “other coaches and NFL personnel that have had relationships with Dianna Russini.”

“Yes. Absolutely,” Froyd replied.

When asked by Eskin, “So Mike Vrabel’s not the only one that she’s had a relationship with?” Froyd answered: “Yes… Multiple head coaches.”

She also alleged that other NFL personnel were involved but the claims have not been independently verified.

Froyd, who was dismissed from USA TODAY Sports in April after criticising Russini on social media, has continued speaking publicly about what she describes as a “culture of corruption” within NFL media circles.

The allegations come weeks after Page Six published photographs of Vrabel and Russini together at the Ambiente hotel in Sedona, Arizona.

Both later denied wrongdoing and Vrabel described suggestions of misconduct as “laughable”, while Russini and The Athletic executive editor Steven Ginsberg said the photos lacked context and omitted the presence of a larger group.

Russini later resigned from The Athletic during an internal review but has maintained there was no affair.

Vrabel remains head coach of the Patriots, who have publicly continued to support him throughout the controversy.
