Sarah Ferguson faces emotional challenge after Eugenie pregnancy news
Princess Eugenie’s baby expected to change Sarah Ferguson’s family role, says expert
Sarah Ferguson is expected to struggle with keeping her distance from Princess Eugenie’s third child as changing royal family dynamics continue to impact the family.
According to royal expert Emily Nash, the former Duchess of York would likely see less of Eugenie’s new baby compared to the time she get to spent with her other grandchildren, August, Ernest and Princess Beatrice’s children.
This comes amid ongoing scrutiny surrounding Ferguson and her former husband Andrew over their past links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Despite this, Nash said Ferguson would find it “very hard” to stay away from a new grandchild, as she added that Eugenie’s pregnancy announcement has still brought a rare moment of positivity for the royal family.
Speaking with Hello! Magazine, Nash said, "While their grandmother and grandfather have spent plenty of time with August and Ernest, they are likely to keep more of a distance this time around, although I’m sure Sarah will find it very hard to stay away from a new grandchild."
“This baby will be born into very different family dynamics to those experienced by his or her older siblings,” she added.
"Regardless of all that has gone on with her parents, this is wonderful news for Princess Eugenie and will give the whole royal family something positive to focus on after a tough few months.
“It’s something joyful and hopeful in the middle of what has been a very grim chapter in the York family’s history."
