Westlife, a Dublin based, MTV Award-winning pop band, has provided a health update on their vocalist, Mark Feehily.

Nicky Byrne, Shane Filan and Kian Egan are returning to the stage without their bandmate, celebrating 25 years together.

Alongside a brand new single and a greatest hits album, the trio are performing across the globe on a massive new tour.

However, Mark will not be accompanying them for their live performances, after recently battling with his health.

The 45-year-old fought sepsis in 2020, and subsequently faced pneumonia, an incisional hernia and underwent several major surgeries.

During his absence from Westlife, his bandmates have now provided an update.

Speaking on BBC Breakfast on Monday with presenters Jon Kay and Sarah Campbell, they revealed he was "doing ok."

Shane said, "He's ok, he's taking a step back at the moment. He's on the new music which is great, he's on Chariot obviously as well, but no, not with us on this one. He's good and he sends his love to everybody and to all the fans too."

Mark Feehily is an Irish singer, best known as a member and one of the lead singers of the pop vocal group Westlife.

Westlife has released twelve albums, embarked on thirteen world tours and won several awards, becoming one of the most successful musical groups of all time.

With 15 number one appearances, Mark Feehily is also the highest-charting LGBT singer on the UK Singles Chart.
