Prince William visits community-led hydro project
Prince William backs small project making huge green difference
Prince William, the Prince of Wales visited a community-led renewable energy project in northern England.
Kensington palace update on William's visit via official Instagram handle of the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Sharing photos of William touring the River Bain Hydro Scheme in Brainbridge, North Yorkshire, the palace wrote, "Visiting the River Bain Hydro scheme in Bainbridge, a community-led project generating renewable energy for 30 local homes."
"The dam uses the natural flow of England’s shortest river to produce electricity, and is expected to save over 3,000 tonnes of CO₂ over its lifetime - supporting local energy independence while working in harmony with the landscape," the caption further revealed.
Pictures from the visit showed Prince William walking alongside the site's large water tribune and speaking with those involved in the initiative.
Dressed casually, the Prince of Wales appeared engaged as he learned about how the system works and benefits it brings to the surrounding community.
Furthermore, the future King also spent time with young farmers at Crow Trees Farm in Swaledale.
The palace shared in another post earlier that the Prince discussed the challenges facing "multi-generational farming" and also about the importance of "protecting nature" and "how diversification is supporting the long-term future of rural communities."
