King Charles’ plans State Trip for Ireland: Report
With news of the President of Ireland, making a trip to her neighbor slated for later this month—will King Charles go too?
The President of Ireland Catherine Connolly is slated for a visit to the UK soon and with news of this abuzz, many wonder if the King might take one himself as early as next year.
The residence of the President of Ireland even referenced the possibility of such a visit, according to the Irish Times.
Per the Áras an Uachtaráin, its said, “A visit to the Irish community in Britain is a priority for President Connolly and plans are under way for an official visit to London and Leeds later this month. The details of the programme are being finalised.”
What is pertinent to mention though that no formal arrangements for such is planned and the source that spoke to the outlet wishes to remain anonymous according to the report.
For those unversed, the King has visited Ireland on many an occasion, whether it be for public or private events, while he was the Prince of Wales. Even Queen Elizabeth II heralded a reciprocal visit with then-President Michael D Higgins.
