Brother-in-law backs Princess Eugenie after pregnancy announcement
Princess Eugenie says she is expecting her third child in 2026
Buckingham Palace on Monday said Princess Eugenie, a niece of King Charles, is expecting her third child with her husband Jack Brooksbank this year.
She married Brooksbank at Windsor Castle in 2018, and they have two sons: August, born in February 2021, and Ernest, born in June 2023.
"August (aged 5) and Ernest (aged 2) are also very excited to have another sibling join the family," the palace said in a statement.
It said the king had been informed and was delighted.
Eugenie, 12th in line to the British throne, is the younger daughter of the king's brother, the former Prince Andrew, and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York.
Thousands of people sent best wishes to the royal when Eugenie shared the news on social media. She has had a tough year due to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's legal troubles and media scrutiny over Jeffrey Epstein links.
Among those commenting was Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, the husband of her elder sister, Princess Beatrice.
The property developer showed support for his sister-in-law by dropping three heart emojis in the comments section of Eugenie's Instagram post featuring her children.
