'Running Point's Kate Hudson makes 'unique' confession about Anne Hathaway, Matthew McConaughey
Kate Hudson opens up about her relationship with former co-stars Anne Hathaway and Matthew McConaughey
Kate Hudson has articulated her thoughts about her former co-stars Anne Hathaway and Matthew McConaughey.
On April 22, the 47-year-old American actress and singer-songwriter attended the premiere of her show Running Point, season 2, at the Time100 Summit at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City.
During the premiere, Hudson chatted with different media outlets, where she was asked to share her thoughts about her current and past co-stars in a rapid-fire round.
She talked about her How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days co-star McConaughey by saying, "He is the most unique, wonderful, spontaneous, unpredictable man I've ever worked with. He's competitive in the best ways. He is so much fun to laugh with. He's down for anything. I love how unpredictable he is because I feel like I love ... anybody who's unpredictable, I want to hang around because I'm down too."
The Song Sung Blue actress went on to call him “really protective,” “great father,” and “beautiful partner” to his wife Camila McConaughey.
“He's a really great family man. And he cares deeply about his work, but mostly about the human condition, and finding inner peace, or at least contentment. And we connect on that very much. Yeah, Matthew's a really unique, special person,” Hudson gushed.
Voicing her thoughts about Hathaway, with whom she worked in 2009's Bride Wars, she called her “a good friend” who is “smart, caring, and intentional.”
When it came to her Running Point castmate Ray Romano, Hudson described him as “funny” and “wonderful.”
She said Romano “literally does not do the same thing twice, and every time it's hilarious. He's so wonderful and we got so lucky to have him in the show."
It is pertinent to mention that Running Point, which stars Kate Hudson as Isla Gordon alongside Brenda Song, Justin Theroux, Chet Hanks, Drew Tarver, and others, was released on Netflix on April 23, 2026.
