Another Trump aide shows baby bump as Karoline Leavitt prepares for maternity leave
Sonny Joy Nelson says she will be giving birth to a baby boy in October 2026
Pregnant White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Wednesday shared a picture with another Trump aide who is expecting her baby this year.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Leavitt shared the photo with Sonny Joy Nelson, Donald Trump’s special assistant and the White House’s media affairs director.
"So many bumps in the West Wing," wrote Leavitt.
Sonny Joy Nelson also shared the picture on her Instagram writing, "One final baby bump pic."
Nelson earlier announced that she will be giving birth to a boy in October 2026. Sonny Joy Nelson is married to Sam Klingsporn, a former lacrosse player who generally keeps a low public profile.
The couple have one son, Isaiah born in 2023, together. Sonny Joy Nelson was an NCAA cheerleader and athlete while earning her degrees.
Meanwhile, Karoline Leavitt is expecting her second child in May 2026. Leavitt called off maternity leave after gunfire erupted steps away from President Donald Trump and top administration officials.
