King Charles has left the public reeling with his deeply personal admission about the world, newer generations, preservation and climate change while on a State Visit in the US, despite actively battling cancer the whole time there.

For those unversed with the King’s battle, he was diagnosed around the same time as Kate Middleton and while she’s announced she’s in reemission, the King has only been able to lower his weekly chemotherapy treatments.

For the visit that saw him getting emotional, it happened while he visited New York City, for a 'Greater Together' event in the Big Apple. It was attended by a number of celebrities like Lionel Richie, Anna Wintour, Stella McCartney, Ralph Lauren, Katherine Jenkins, model Iman, and Donatella Versace among others, and was for the American branch of The King’s Trust.

There he began by saying, “I hesitate to make yet another speech,” before highlighting the “enduring bond” between his homeland and that of his host, before adding. “which of course is a relationship rooted in shared creativity, enterprise and values reminding us we are truly greater together, that's the point. Its a wonderfully and proud but extraordinary moment to think its 50 years since I started this Trust. Quite difficult to get it off the ground but we did.”

Over the years the Trust’s work ensured differences were made given its five decade-long “investing in young people” to create “self-confidence” and establish “highly successful” businesses.

It was at this point that the emotional turn came because the King was quoted admitting, “As we look to the future, I won't see the long-distance future, but I'm enormously grateful to you for what you can all do as supporters to help in this vital endeavour to champion the next generation ensuring that their talent and ambition continue to strengthen our society for many years to come.”
