Meghan Markle is once again at the center of speculations as fresh claims suggest financial concerns were the major reason in her decision to step away from the royal family alongside Prince Harry.

As revealed by Radar Online, when the Duchess of Sussex realised that Prince William would forever be in charge of the finances, she wanted out.

An insider close to the couple told editor-in-chief Dan Wakeford, who wrote in Substack, "When she realized that William was going to be in charge of how much they were getting for the rest of their lives, she wanted out."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle publicly cited a desire for financial independence when they stepped back from the royal life in 2020. Since then, the Sussexes have pursued independent ventures.

Notably, Prince Harry wrote in his memoir Spare about how King Charles complained about having to support the Duke's future wife in addition to him, William and Kate Middleton.

He wrote that when he told his dad about Meghan's plan to quit acting career before he proposed her, Charles said, "there’s not enough money to go around."

"I can’t pay for anyone else. I’m already having to pay for your brother and Catherine," Charles allegedly said.

It is pertinent to mention that despite these claims there has been no official confirmation about Meghan's motivations.
