Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent efforts to improve their image appear to have made little difference in Australia, according to a new poll.

The Roy Morgan survey of 1,767 people revealed that most Australians were aware of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s recent visit.

However, 59% were of the opinion that they would not want Harry and Meghan to live in the country, compared to 41% who said they would.

The results also showed that the trip had limited impact on public opinion, with only 19% saying it improved how they view the couple.

On Harry’s relationship with King Charles, 13% of respondents believed the visit could help improve their strained relationship.

Meanwhile, another report claimed that Harry feels the positive public response they received in the country has strengthened his view that he and Meghan can play a valuable role representing the monarchy.

“Harry and Meghan are very pleased with how this trip has gone. It’s given them a lot of confidence and reinforced their belief the tide is finally turning in their favour,” the insider said.

They added, “They knew there would be some sniping from critics, but in their eyes, the overall reception they received from the general public – and the causes they supported – was incredible.

“It’s confirmed Harry’s belief they’re creating a groundbreaking new blueprint that will stand them in good stead moving forward – and he’s hoping it will impress the royals.”
