The official handle of the BBC posted photos of the monarch receiving honour on Instagram. The presentation took place at Dumfries House, where the ceremony was filmed for an upcoming special edition of the children's programme Blue Peter.

The host Joel Mawhinney handed King Charles the prestigious green badge, an award which is traditionally given to individual who have made a significant impact on environmental causes.

The details shared in the caption revealed, "The King is awarded a Green Blue Peter Badge on Earth Day. The presentation took place at @dumfrieshouse, in Ayrshire, Scotland, filmed for a special edition of the iconic BBC programme."
