Prince Harry reportedly feels the royal family still needs him as he and Meghan Markle wrap up their non-royal Australia tour.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently went on a series of public engagements in Australia which some critics dubbed a “faux royal tour.”

According to a source, Harry believes the positive public response they received in the country has strengthened his view that he and Meghan can play a valuable role representing the monarchy.

The insider claimed the trip has boosted Harry’s confidence in resuming his royal role if allowed especially now that monarchy’s image has suffered because of Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s scandal.

“Harry and Meghan are very pleased with how this trip has gone. It’s given them a lot of confidence and reinforced their belief the tide is finally turning in their favour,” the insider said.

They added, “They knew there would be some sniping from critics, but in their eyes, the overall reception they received from the general public – and the causes they supported – was incredible.

“It’s confirmed Harry’s belief they’re creating a groundbreaking new blueprint that will stand them in good stead moving forward – and he’s hoping it will impress the royals.”

The insider told Heat Magazine that “the way he sees it, the royals need him and Meghan flying the flag for the monarchy, especially with all the negativity they’ve endured from the Andrew scandal.”

“He believes it’s time to embrace this new chapter together and he’s ready to sit down with his father and make that happen, hopefully in a couple of months when he next returns to the UK.”
