King Charles ‘still the top dog’ despite Prince William succession talk
King Charles determined to remain in charge of monarchy despite illness
King Charles is reportedly keen to remind Prince William that he remains firmly in charge of the monarchy despite ongoing speculation about the future of the crown amid his cancer treatment.
According to Closer Magazine, the monarch felt “empowered” following the success of his recent US visit with Queen Camilla and believes there is “no rush” to scale back royal duties.
This comes as Charles continues to increase his public engagements this year while undergoing treatment as he signaled renewed confidence in both his health and leadership.
“Charles has made it clear he’s still very much the top dog and that William needs to know his place,” the source told the publication.
They added, “He was already going into this trip feeling empowered, but the way he’s been received in America has only bolstered his confidence and made him even more certain that there’s no rush to retire from duty.”
Meanwhile, royal broadcaster Ian Pelham Turner said, “King Charles and Queen Camilla have caused allegedly a row within the Royal Family after accepting a visit to America as part of the 250th centenary celebrations.”
“Sources close to the Royal family have allegedly stated that Prince William was against the couple going to the celebrations as he felt that his father's health was still not the best but apparently, he was overruled by Queen Camilla.”
