The Māori Queen is the leader of the Kīngitanga, or Māori King Movement.
Crowned in 2024, the 28-year-old is the movement’s seventh monarch and second queen.
The Kīngitanga is a cultural body for Māori tribes, separate from King Charles’s role as New Zealand’s constitutional head of state.
