Prince Harry’s push to reconnect with King Charles creates strain with Meghan

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly facing fresh tension as efforts grow within royal circles to repair Harry’s relationship with his father King Charles.

A palace insider told a US-based entertainment sit that a “Project Thaw” has been launched by the Buckingham Palace in an attempt to help the Duke of Sussex reconcile with the king.

Following their face-to-face meeting in London last September for the first time in more than 18 months, there is an increase in efforts to bring the father-son together.

However, the situation is said to be difficult for Meghan, who has spoken in the past about feeling unsupported during her time in the royal family.

A source said that the Duchess of Sussex has little to no desire to return to the UK and wants to protect their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, from royal pressures.

Meanhile, Harry still hopes for better security arrangements that could allow visits to the UK, the insider shared.

"She knows, deep down, that Harry will never stop being a royal and that their life together is contingent on her accepting that," the insider said.

They added, "After all his promises and plans for independence, it's a very tough pill to swallow."

The report alleged that there have been rumours that it is not certain if Harry and Meghan would make it to their next wedding anniversary.

"Harry and Meghan did not sign a prenup – it's not the done thing in royal circles," they said. "They had such high hopes when they came to America that things would go their way.”

"But it's been one disaster or disappointment after another, there's simply no getting away from that,” the insider said, referring to their back to back business failures.
