Katy Perry to 'beat' Taylor Swift by marrying first

Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, though now on friendly terms, have been rivals in the past.

Now that the Dark Horse hitmaker and her partner, Justin Trudeau, are mulling marriage, she may rush the decision, a report suggested.

This is due to Swift, according to reports, also being set to walk down the aisle this year, probably in July.

For Perry, as the Heatworld report alleged, the long-term rivalry never died, raising the possibility of one-upping the Carolina singer by tying the knot in June.

"She’d love to beat frenemy Taylor Swift down the aisle. That’s not the reason Katy is looking at doing hers in June, but it would be an added bonus," the source claimed.

But, as sources say, that is not the key reason for her planning a wedding soon. Instead, that has more to do with the singer's preference to follow her heart.

"This would not be the first time Katy married very quickly; obviously it was a disaster when she did that with Russell Brand, but then look at her and Orlando – she waited so long to pull the trigger because she didn’t want a repeat of Russell, and that didn’t work either."

"It’s made her realise there are no hard and fast rules, so she’s decided to just follow her heart. She and Justin have been talking about this very seriously the last couple of months; it’s just a matter of finding the right time to do it," the insider concluded.
